La Biblioteca Opens Sat., Nov. 9: Excellent Tequila Cocktails

Cucumber Pepino
Cucumber Pepino: Serrano infused tequila, cucumber, & citrus

La Biblioteca, 1610 Little Raven St., opens this Saturday, Nov. 9. I had the pleasure of getting a preview earlier this week.

As much as I like beer, I was most interested in trying some of their cocktails, made with house-infused tequilas. I started with a Cucumber Pepino; the Serrano peppers made it a little spicy yet the cucumber balanced it out. It was a nice refreshing drink.

I also had the Manzana Mexicana, made with an apple & cinnamon infused tequila. I loved this! Though I enjoyed it before my meal, it seemed like it would be a good after-dinner drink as well.

For dinner I got the Vegetarian Roll, and it was one of the best meals I have had in a very long time. Though I’ve been vegetarian for 15 years, I’m pretty new to this sort of dish; I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. But it was delicious!

La Biblioteca has a wide selection of tequilas and an interesting concept: “Patrons will ‘check out’ bottles of tequila instead of books and store their selections in a personal locker to sip upon their return.”

I had a great time and thought the interior, the drinks and food were all wonderful. I look forward to many happy hours and dinners in the near future.
