One of Denver’s oldest craft breweries—and one of my personal favorites—is turning TWENTY-FIVE! And they are celebrating in a *big* way. On Saturday, June 22nd, Great Divide Brewing Company is throwing a block party at its original location (2201 Arapahoe Street, where it all began). And wow do they have some exciting beers lined up.
Making their debut at the 25th Anniversary party are two brand new beers: BIG Yeti (pictured below), a 13.5% imperial stout, and an 8% Double Hazy IPA, both of which will be available in 19.2oz cans to-go and on draft.
Yeti has long since topped my list of “best stouts,” so imagine my delight when Great Divide announced that there will be at least 14 Yeti variants pouring at the celebration, including some old favorites (Chocolate Oak Aged and Oatmeal), plus new creations (S’mores and <OMG!> Maple Pecan).
Don’t dig on stouts? Not to worry. Be on the lookout for a Jameson BA Saison, vintage Hibernation, Brut IPA, Double Juicy IPA, Hoppy Pilsner, selections from the Wood Werks series, and more. Oh, and you’ll get a sneak peek of the new Denver Pale Ale Artist Series can #4 by artist Scot Lefavor, as well a taste of Great Divide Lager, which will be released in the near future.
A block party on a summer day, all these delicious Great Divide beers…what more could you want? Live music? Check. Food trucks? You bet. Lawn games? Got ya covered there too. And if you’re lucky, you just might be able to catch a glimpse of the wily and elusive Yeti itself. But only if you attend this awesome anniversary bash!
