Bridge Tap House: Some of Missouri’s Finest Brews +

I recently blogged about some great breweries I visited while in St. Louis. I’d like to mention another place and, while not a brewery, they have a fantastic tap wall with beers from all over the world: Bridge Tap House and Wine Bar. Bridge Tap House has 55 beers on tap, many of them from…

Wynkoop Brewing’s Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout: Does this count as meat?

I am a long-time vegetarian.  I am also a lover of beer.  These two normally harmonious characteristics were recently challenged when I found out about Wynkoop Brewing’s Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout. I know “meat” beers exist; I’ve heard of bacon beers but never had any interest in trying them.  And it’s not because I’ve been…

Square One Brewery & Distillery, St. Louis: Delicious!

A few weeks ago I wrote about my “adventure” in St. Louis for Crafting a Nation’s site, Lost in St. Louis: Finds Urban Chestnut Brewing Co., where I described my harrowing journey of being alone in an unfamiliar city, in search of good beer.  But I’m going to rewind for a minute and talk about…

Best in Show: The standouts of GABF 2012

In my previous post I listed several of my favorite beers from this year’s GABF. HAPPY GABF, EVERYONE!!!

It’s HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Christmas for beer lovers. Enjoy GABF, my friends. And don’t forget your pretzel necklaces and end up eating off those of complete strangers, like I did a few years back.

Cigar City comes to Denver!

I am really looking forward to Cigar City Brewing tap takeover tonight at Star Bar Denver.  According to Star Bar’s site, the beers will be:  Jai Alai IPA, Big Sound Scotch Ale, Florida Cracker White Ale, Vanilla Maduro, and Mango Habanero Red Ale.  I’ll definitely be trying the IPA and Mango Habanero Red.  So nice…

GABF: Why do you make us wait until the day OF for the beer list?!

Like many people, I’ve been excited about this year’s GABF for months.  I’m a planner.  I like having things to look forward to, and I enjoy doing research about events, places, etc.  I love to plan things out.  I’m doing well on my “breweries I must visit” list, but what’s really killing me is that…

Happy National Drink a Beer Day!
